Designing and Building Gardens in Cranbrook, Kent.

We bring together thoughtful garden design and expert construction - beautiful, considered gardens shaped by Cranbrook’s medieval character, ancient woodland and the fertile soils that grow from the heart of the Kentish Weald.

Creating bespoke gardens for homes in Cranbrook

The heavy, fertile Wealden clay that characterises much of this area demands a specific approach; careful drainage, robust planting choices and species that are suited to moisture-retaining conditions. Our designs reflect our knowledge of this landscape, drawing inspiration from what we see around us from the native oaks and hornbeam to the timber-framed cottages and oast houses.

Cranbrook Garden Design

The best gardens are shaped long before anything is put to paper. Great garden design begins long before a line is drawn. In Cranbrook, where ancient woodland, open farmland and the Wealden landscape press right up to the garden boundary, that early thinking matters, especially understanding the site and how to create a garden that feels like it’s always been there.

Cranbrook Garden Build

The success of a garden lies as much in how it’s built as how it’s designed. In the Cranbrook area, where heavy clay soils, listed buildings and ancient boundaries all call for experience and sensitivity, our skilled team brings the same care and precision to construction as we bring to the design. We work with the landscape’s character, not against it.

Cranbrook Garden studio

Gardens, carefully designed and expertly built, across Cranbrook and the surrounding Kentish Weald.

From the weatherboarded homes and converted oust houses of the town itself to the rural properties and farms that spread across the wider Weald, we bring the same depth of care to every project.

Meet the studio

Led by Lucy and Ed Hall, Greenwild are a husband and wife team creating bespoke gardens for homes in Cranbrook and the Kentish Weald.

Our shared background in organic agriculture and conservation shapes the gardens we create here; an instinctive feel for the Wealden landscape, its ecology and the planting that belongs in it. It’s what makes us unique.

“From start to finish, the whole project was genuinely good fun. The landscaping team was fantastic - friendly and hardworking. Ed kept us updated throughout. It was a brilliant experience and a really enjoyable project to be part of. We are absolutely delighted with the finished garden.”

Tim, Cranbrook

“Lucy encouraged us to be a little braver with the design, and we are so glad she did. The planting is amazing: so much colour, movement and life in the garden now, and we have noticed a huge increase in wildlife since it went in. It feels like a garden that will only get better with time, which is exactly what we hoped for.”
